Our Participants

The DTRG are very grateful to people with diabetes (our participants) from Victoria who are very generous with their time and commitment to our research and without whom we couldn’t do the work we do with our partners. We invite you to meet a few of these amazing people who offer their time and their personal diabetes information with us in the interests of research. They share their thoughts about why they became a participant with the DTRG, their reasons and what they
have gained from the experience.

I have always believed that being a Type 1 holds no barriers to my life...
being a trial participant for DTRG proved this beyond doubt!

Thank you for your dedication to assisting people with T1D to trial and access improved technology.

We are privileged to start using the new sensor which looks very user friendly and less burdensome.

Richard

I would like to thank you and your team for their efforts throughout the study, especially during the lockdown, providing extra care and alternate arrangements for meetings and getting sensors out to me.

You have a wonderfully talented and dedicated team that has always made me feel welcome and comfortable and has been more than accommodating even with my busy schedule.

Since I have been on this study I have had amazing results and hope the next stage brings even better ones (though it is hard to improve on perfection!).

I have been amazed seeing how much improvement there has been from when I started on a pump around 13 years ago to the control I have now.

Please pass this on to your amazing team!

“Research has enabled me to see the big picture in what’s coming,
but also as a participant, it’s kept me focused on maintaining good control.”
