Dr Sunni Yuan presented work on dual function cannulae at the 2022 Diabetes Technology Meeting
Dr Sunni Yuan’s work analysing the feasibility of a single insertion dual function glucose sensing and insulin delivering cannula
In current practice, people living with Type 1 diabetes need to have separate insertions for their glucose sensor and insulin delivering cannula as preservatives in insulin formulations can interfere with the accuracy of the glucose sensor when the two are in close proximity.
Initial feasibility data from this first in human study supports successful function of this prototype dual function glucose-sensing and insulin delivering cannula. Algorithm development is underway aimed at improving sensor accuracy.
