Dr Melissa Lee Presents Omnipod®5 study findings at IDF 2026

Congratulations to Dr Melissa Lee on her presentation at IDF, ADC and Metabolic Diseases Congress in Melbourne. Dr Lee shared real-world results from 6,161 people with type 1 diabetes in Australia using the Omnipod® 5 automated insulin delivery system, including both children and adults. With use of optimised settings, children aged 2–18 spent around 80% of their time in their target blood sugar range, compared with 76% for adults, while very low blood sugar levels (hypoglycaemia) were uncommon, occurring for approximately 1% in both children and adults. Overall, both children and adults achieved good blood sugar control, and both groups spending very little time with low blood sugar. These real-world findings highlight the potential of automated insulin delivery to help people with type 1 diabetes manage their blood sugar safely and effectively in everyday life.
