Dr Cherie Chong Presents ReCET findings at IDF 2026

Congratulations to Dr Cherie Choong on her poster presentation at the combined IDF, ADC and Metabolic Diseases Congress in Melbourne. Dr Choong shared results from the REGENT-1 and REGENT-1-US studies, which investigated a new, non-surgical treatment for people living with type 2 diabetes. The results suggest that ferritin, a measure of the body’s stored iron, could help predict who may respond best to the treatment. People with higher ferritin levels at the start of the study generally experienced greater improvements in their blood sugar levels over the subsequent 24 weeks. The follow-up ReCET study is currently ongoing and may provide further insights into this signal. D.T.R.G. congratulates Dr Choong and the REGENT and ReCET teams, and thanks Endogenex for supporting this exciting research into new approaches for treating type 2 diabetes.
