D.T.R.G hosts advocacy talks regarding AID access during National Diabetes Week
D.T.R.G was delighted to host Justine Cain and Taryn Black of Diabetes Australia, and Professor Richard MacIsaac of St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne at the commencement of National Diabetes Week to speak about expanding access to automated insulin delivery technology (AID) for Australians with Type 1 Diabetes.
While an estimated 90,000 people are accessing affordable CGM, less than a quarter of people with type 1 diabetes use insulin pumps in Australia. Cost remains a major barrier, and here at D.T.R.G we are committed to changing that. We strongly agree that we need to see a change in access to AID so that all Australians with diabetes can utilise these life changing technologies.
